Justice Odili heads newly-constituted Editorial Board of NHRC Journal
Members are to assist the commission in its efforts to improve human rights situation in Nigeria through the publication of quality scholarly articles

Retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Mary Odili and Professor Deji Adekunle, former Director of the Nigeria Institute of Advanced Legal studies, (NIALS), were among those inaugurated on Thursday as advisory members of the editorial board of the National Human Right Commission Journal.
Inaugurating the editorial board in Abuja, the Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Prof. Tony Ojukwu SAN, urged the members to assist the commission in its efforts to improve human rights situation in Nigeria through the publication of quality scholarly articles.
Ojukwu emphasized that through the quality scholarly publication of articles the world would know the state of affairs of human rights in Nigeria.
"It is, therefore, important to constantly update our knowledge on human rights issues, especially in a world where countries are judged by the level of compliance with human rights' norms and standards," he said.
Responding, the Chairman of the Editorial Advisory Board, Justice Mary Odili (retired), charged Nigerians to express themselves in different areas of human rights in Nigeria through their articles.
"National Human Rights Commission has over the years, proved to be an outstanding institution in the promotion and protection of human rights in Nigeria and so partnering with them in this regard is a great privilege," Odili said
Other members of the board include professor Obiora Okafor, Professor Abubakar Muazu and Professor Jumila Nasir.
Professor Emily Alemika, Mrs Ifeoma Nwakama, among others, were editors with Tony Ojukwu as the Editor-in-chief.
