Guber election: Shekarau may dump PDP for APC
Allegedly angry for being bypassed in campaign fund disbursement for last Presidential election

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) and former Kano state Governor, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, may soon defect from PDP to All Progressives Congress (APC).
A reliable source who preferred anonymity stated that the unfolding scenario emerged during a burial ceremony of a popular Kano business man, late Sani Dairi Yakasai, where a meeting was said to have held between Senator Shekarau and the Kano State Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who later offered him a ride to his Mundubawa home.
It was also disclosed that the emerging development confirmed that Shekarau's decision to support his former ally, Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, the APC candidate, to actualise his ambition of becoming the Governor of Kano State.
The source explained that the governorship candidate of APC, Dr. Gawuna, who served as Chairman of Nassarawa Local Government during Malam Shekarau's tenure as Governor of the State was known to have been among the top loyalists of Shekarau.
The source said that Shekarau's supporters have been instructed to vote for Mr Gawuna of APC instead of the PDP candidate, Sadiq Wali.
The visit to Shekarau's residence by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Friday, appeared to have confirmed the plans for Mr Shekarau to return to APC.
Our source disclosed that Shekarau was allegedly angry over the last Presidential election in which the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, bypassed Shekarau and handed over campaign funds to Mr Ibrahim Little.
Malam Shekarau voluntarily left APC after his G7 lost the leadership of the party to Ganduje, joined Kwankwaso temporarily in the NNPP, before he settled with the PDP in an elaborate ceremony that attracted Atiku Abubakar, and other notable stalwarts of the opposition party.
Commenting on the emerging development, Shekarau described his purported return to APC as a rumour
Senator Shekarau's special Adviser on media, Dr Sule Yau Sule said: "today after the Janaza of SDY (burial of Sani Dairi Yakasa), Governor Ganduje offered a ride to His Excellency Senator Ibrahim Shekarau to Makabira, from where they visited the family of the deceased after which he took Sardauna back to his house."
