Gen. Buratai celebrates double, marries daughter out in style
It was a day of joy as the former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.Gen. (rtd) celebrates daughter's wedding fatiha barely after one week of his Turbaning as the Garkuwan Keffi by the Emir of Keffi, Prof. Alhaji Shehu Yamusa III.
Hajia Fatima Tukur Buratai and the husband's wedding took place in a Mosque at the Snake farm along Keffi Road,
It was festivities galore as the creme de la creme of the military, politicians, public servants, elites converged at the luxurious Snake Farms located at Gora town, Keffi Local Government Area to witness the elegant wedding fatiha of Hajiya Fatima Tukur Buratai, the beautiful daughter of former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.Gen. Buratai to her handsome hearttrobe, Mallam Ismaila Salim.
Gen. (rtd) Buratai, who is now Nigeria's Ambassador the Republic of Benin, used the occasion to send message of peace, unity and love as panacea to the challenges Nigeria is facing.
From Mosque, the guests proceeded to the reception within the complex were they were treated to sumptous and delicious Nigerian and intercontinental dishes, soft drinks, fruit juice and non-alcoholic wines and beverages.
Traditional Hausa musicians were not left out as they treated the guests, relatives and family friends to a variety of cool, resonating and refreshing tunes that kept all and sundry on their feet singing and dancing to the sway of the music.
Among the eminent guests present at the occasion were the Emir of Keffi, HRH Chindo Yamusa l, Lt Gen Lamidi Adeosun (rtd), Lt Gen Azubuike Iheajirika (rtd), Major-Gen M.D. Abubakar (rtd), Major-Gen A.S. Maikobi (rtd) and other top military officers, senior public officers, corporate tycoons and the high and mighty of society. In a chat with media men at the event, the beaming bridegroom, Mallam Ismaila Salim thanked all the guests, relatives and family friends that graced the wedding as well as the bride's parents for their immense contributions to the success of the occasion. He said the relationship between him and his lovely wife, Fatima Tukur Buratai was characterised by humility, generosity, kindness, benevolence, faithfulness and utter submission to the supreme will of the Almighty Allah.
He promised those that attended the wedding that their union will remain strong and united so as not to let down all those that took time off their busy schedule to witness the ceremony. Other guests that were interviewed also harped on this same theme of co-operation, trust and confidence and enjoined the new couple not to allow any person or issue come between their love and endearment for one another.
